Summer overwhelm - It’s real
I’m writing this on the last peaceful morning before the kids break up from school—making the most of the quiet and time to myself before the 6-week whirlwind of summer holidays begins!
As I sit here, I’m checking in with myself... How am I really feeling?
Honestly? I’m feeling overwhelmed.
Yep, even as a parental wellbeing coach, I still feel it—because I’m also a mum of three, and every day brings its own challenges. But for me, having a plan helps. So the next six weeks are carved out: a week away with the kids, time with family, and some fun kids’ craft sessions (with my own three in tow!).
Most importantly, I’ve carved out a few days just for me.
That’s one of the gifts of co-parenting—I know I’m lucky to be able to do that. And knowing I have that time helps me breathe a bit easier.
But I also know the other days will be full-on. And I still have to remind myself that you can’t do it all. No one expects you to. It’s okay to take something off the list and add your wellbeing onto it.

A Quick Update: The Mindful Parent Hub is Here!
After the success of our Parental Wellbeing Sessions this spring, Sima and I have rebranded and expanded the series into The Mindful Parent Hub. We’ve listened to what our wonderful parents wanted—more conversation, more community, more continuity.
So, what’s new?
✨ The Autumn Series starts on 17th September and runs a little longer, with new topics and fresh energy.
You can book the full block or join individual sessions when you can—just know there are only 12 spaces to keep things intimate and supportive, and bookings have already started.
You know you’ll need time for your wellbeing once the kids are back at school—don’t feel guilty about that. Do something for you.
Free Monthly Coffee Catch Ups
To keep the connection going between sessions, we’re also launching relaxed, drop-in coffee meet-ups. The first one is:
🗓 Wednesday 13th August
🕛 12:00–1:30pm
📍 Rookwood Village Pub
Bring the kids or don’t—it’s totally up to you. We’ll have a simple craft activity ready to keep little hands busy, and Sima and I will have our kids there too, so it’ll be warm, friendly and real.
Halfway through the summer holidays? I imagine we’ll all need a gentle boost and a space to say: How are you really doing?
